Flash MX Savvy

"Extremely well organized..."

What impressed me the most about this book is that it is extremely well organized. The writing is concise and to the point. There are a couple of teaching styles being utilized. First you get the facts, sometimes with short step based explanations and a few images. You can then apply the information in each chapter with a Hands On tutorial which utilizes many of the techniques taught in the chapter.
Then at the end of a book section there are additional tutorials if you learn better by doing. Because of the layout of the book it is also suitable as a reference book.
It's easy to read and understand. The chapters build on each other and progressively advance toward a more intermediate level. I'm a sucker for good quality paper and this book has it. The print looks wonderful, the page layout is clean and neat without a lot of wasted space. There is a lot of value packed ino the Flash MX Savvy book.
There are a lot of goodies on the CD including an extra chapter. There is extensive coverage of working with sound includin a chapter on using digital audio applications. There is coverage of how to work in Director and FreeHand as well.
You'll learn not only the Flash basics such as buttons, libraries, symbols, timelines and movie clips but how to synchronize audio with animations and how to make dynamic soundtracks with DoReMedia Sound Families.
You won't regret buying this book.
