Essential
Flash 4
for Web Professionals
by Lynn Kyle

If you are just beginning with Flash 4 and want fast results, then grab this jewel. There are step-by-step, easily understood tutorials to build two hypothetical websites.
__ The first one is a straight forward site with simple vector graphics made in Flash, basic animation, animated buttons and buttons with sound.

__ The second one uses a splash screen with music and music on/off control, more advanced graphics and animations, an interactive dressing room and an e-mail form. You can download what you need for the tutorial at the supporting website and Lynn has even included her e-mail address.
__ What impressed me is that there are no long discussions of the advantages of Flash or why you should use it. If you know you want to learn this program then pick up this book and get to work. After about 5 pages of the tools you begin working on your first site. The instructions are very concise and easily understood instructions and illustrations.
__ This is the first book I've reviewed in Prentice Hall's "essential" series, but if this is any indication of how fast a program can be learned, I'll be looking for more in this series. Do yourself a favor and get this book if you are in a hurry to learn Flash 4, or just plain don't have the time to read frivolous information you don't need to produce your first Flash 4 site!
