If you are comfortable with Dreamweaver and want to extend its capabilites into serving dynamic content, then this training CD will get you up to speed quickly. I had added a registration form, login, password and information added to a database with UltraDev1. It required a lot of hand coding. I was amazed to learn how easy it now is using UltraDev 4.
Simon shows you how to add dynamic content, how to update, insert information and delete it as well. He covers how to add or restrict access to certain types of users, setting up registration, login and passwords. He even shows you how to add a shopping cart. All without writing one line of code!
Simon teaches at a very nice pace, easy to understand and follow. He has a pleasant voice to listen to. He starts the training off with a bit of history and what to expect. He explains about how using a database to serve dynamic content works. The lessons are based on an Access database using the ASP server technology. He teaches you how to check your work if you are using a PC. If you use a Mac you'll have to use the resources within UltraDev to get a live connection. He also points you to a free 30 day trial hosting that Macromedia offers so that Mac users can view their data.
You will start at the beginning with a root folder of static pages, to setting up a DNS connection all the way through setting up a shopping cart.
I think think the course is priced well for what you get. There is a lot of value packed into the 3 hours and 39 minutes of training. Plus you can go back and watch any portion you need more help on at any time. You can't do that in a live class!
