This is an incredible book in every respect. No, it's not a "WOW" book. You won't get pretty pictures and eye-candy. No, it's not a tutorial book. There are plenty of these. Think of this book as if it were an instruction manual for auto repairs on your car. That's what it is -- a shop manual for Illustrator. And, it's really the only resource of its kind.
      This detailed reference features an intensive walk-through of Illustrator's entire interface. Every tool and command, every last button and box, is accompanied by a description of its proper use and recommended settings.
      The index and structure of the book allows you to go directly to any feature or aspect you need. So it's a superb production companion. It's also fun for pure browsing because no matter which of its 700+ pages you open to, you'll learn something or get a creative idea.
      I use it to answer reader's questions sent in to the Design Center or the Designer's CAFE. I also have the Photoshop Shop Manual (in the Photoshop department.) which has been indispensable in getting to the root of problems or questions with the software.
