      Robert J. Brunner is an author and member of the research staff at the California Institute of Technology, where his research focuses on knowledge discovery in large, distributed datasets. He also was an instructor at the Center for Advanced Computing Technology at the California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, where he taught and developed applications using both Java and XML.
