TAKE TWO FOR LINUX HEADACHES:
New book shows readers how to solve technical Linux problems

Plenty of books teach users how to install the popular, free Linux operating system-but what do they do once it's installed and it won't connect to the Web or the printer will only spit out gibberish?
__ THE LINUX PROBLEM SOLVER is a concise guide to solving technical Linux problems.
__ Written by Brian Ward, author of the Linux Kernel HOW-TO, THE LINUX PROBLEM SOLVER is for users who already have their system up and running and want to solve problems related to printing, networking, back-up, crash recovery and upgrading a kernel. This book helps solve difficult Linux snafus by integrating troubleshooting techniques with clear explanations and tutorials of Linux utilities. An invaluable reference, THE LINUX PROBLEM SOLVER shows readers how to solve over 100 problems, including how to:
* Troubleshoot printing, filesharing, and networking problems
* Configure and install software from source code
* Compile and install a new Linux kernel
* Debug a network connection and secure a system
* Recover from a system crash and prevent serious damage in the future

The CD-ROM directly supports the book's contents, with configuration files and numerous programs not included with many Linux distributions. The CD also doubles as an emergency boot disk with diagnostic and recovery tools.
